We’re back with another round up of a LEGO fan event, and this time we’re back at Great Western Brick Show 2024 at STEAM museum in Swindon, south west England.
This is the show’s 21st year, which is an incredible achievement for a fan-run LEGO event! Run by Brickish, the UK-wide LEGO User Group, the Great Western Brick Show is hosted in the STEAM museum in Swindon. This year the show was under new organisers too, so congratulations to Sabrina, Matt and Jonathan for their efforts.

Alien planet by Sally White
This alien planet scene by Sally White caught our eyes at GWBS 2024 too.
Built from an array of LEGO tiles on a rainbow of colours, the patchwork effect was really eye catching, and the scene was jam-packed with details to reward visitors who spent more time scouring the model – including world leaders trapped in an intergalatic prison!
Giant LEGO parrot by Mike Freeman
This huge LEGO parrot by Mike Freeman caught our eye, featuring an upscaled version of the classic LEGO parrot. Beneath the giant parrot was a jungle display featuring (almost?) every parrot LEGO had ever released, including DUPLODUPLO is a LEGO product line designed for young children, fe... More, friends and some very obscure themes.
Chromatic scenes by Jackie Britton
Our final pick for Great Western Brick Show 2024 is a series of models by the same builder. Jackie’s brilliant chromatic scenes used a white cube built from LEGO bricks as a basis for designs full of colour – sometimes just a single colour! A particular favourite of ours with the dripping rainbow taps.
