Shildon Brick Show 2020 – virtual

18 October 2020

Shildon Brick Show - UK's largest free LEGO show

As many readers will know, Shildon Brick Show is a LEGO show close to my heart. It’s something I’ve been involved with since it started, 5 years ago, and is the flagship show of my local LEGO User Group, Brick Alley.

Of course, due to the COVID situation this year, we realised early on in the year that running a physical show was going to be unlikely, and cancelled this year’s show. It would’ve been the fifth year anniversary of Shildon Brick Show this November, and we had some big plans – but they’ll be back whenever it’s safe to do so.

A virtual Shildon Brick Show 2020, coming soon

In the meantime, we’ve arranged with Locomotion, our host venue, to release some new interviews with some of Brick Alley’s LEGO builders with a little help from Graham Hancock of Blocks Magazine – so keep an eye out on the Locomotion Facebook page on the weekend of 14 – 15th November this year! We chose this format as it worked well for us in our first virtual LEGO show this year, Bricks At Home, and will hopefully give people a small flavour of what we’ve been up to since last year’s event.

And whether or not Shildon Brick Show 2021 goes ahead (we have preliminary dates which are listed on my UK LEGO events list for 2021), we do have our virtual Bricks At Home LEGO show happening in February 2021, with LEGO builders from around the world showcasing their models.
