Build an item from LEGO bricks that tells us something about you

This is a more open-ended ice breaker activity, and sets a challenge for your participants by asking them to build an item from LEGO bricks that has meaning in their life. This might be something related to a hobby, their favourite book or film, their most memorable holiday, or perhaps their family.

After a fixed building time (15 – 20 minutes should do it), invite participants to share their item and the story behind it with the team.

Tower building – competitive ice breaker activity

If you’re looking for a more competitive ice breaker activity, this competitive challenge will help bond teams through LEGO bricks. In team sizes of your choosing, ask them to build the tallest tower from LEGO bricks.

Each team member can only place one brick at a time, and the team should build clockwise around their group one brick at a time in this way. A time limit of 15 – 20 minutes is generally suitable for this activity, though it can be extended depending on the amount of LEGO bricks you have available per team.

For an even tougher challenge, ask participants to use their non-dominant hand (eg, their left hand if they are right-handed) to complete the challenge – their unused hand should remain behind their back for the duration of the challenge.
