We returned to the North East for Brick Alley’s Durham Brick Show 2025, hosted in the beautiful Ushaw House just outside Durham.
Situated in the splendour of the refectory – the old dining hall for priests in training at this old seminary, once part of Durham University – Durham Brick Show saw two days of LEGO model displays by Brick Alley members and other LEGO User Groups, a small selection of stalls to buy that perfect toy from, and a range of LEGO activities from play pits to tower building and a speed build against the clock.

There was a wide variety of models on display across the weekend, from the club’s collaborative themed flamingo display first presented at Bricktastic 2025 earlier this year, to winter scenes, huge sailing ships, spaceships, trains, space rockets, lighthouses, medieval castles and artwork, all created from LEGO bricks.

These LEGO Thunderbird models by Stephen Edmond were F-A-B! Featuring Thunderbird 4 and the mole, these LEGO models were full of nostalgia!
Andy Rose’s expanded castle scene
We have previously featured Andy’s castle scene (see Shildon Brick Show 2024), and it was great to see the latest expansion featuring more castles and a functioning windmill, plus an interactive button that illuminated a glow in the dark ghost when pressed.
