LEGO Durham Cathedral and Tyne Bridge at Metrocentre Gateshead LEGO store

I’m really pleased to see two of my North East LEGO landmark models on display in an official LEGO store this year!

Tyne Bridge in LEGO

My LEGO models of both Durham Cathedral and the LEGO Tyne Bridge are on display at the Gateshead Metrocentre LEGO store for a period of around 3 months, until October. They are on display in what is known as the “community showcase” window within the store for a period of 3 months for shoppers young and old to see.

Displaying custom LEGO models I’ve designed and built in a LEGO store has been an aim ever since I became an AFOL (Adult Fan of LEGO), and I’m thrilled to have a small selection of my models.

Larger North East landmarks in LEGO

Of course, there are much larger versions of both of these North East landmarks available in LEGO. Durham Cathedral will be soon completing their minifigure-scale model of the cathedral in LEGO, and NE1 Business Improvement launched a 3000+ part set of the Tyne Bridge (again designed by Bright Bricks) before Christmas last year.

The models are on display at the LEGO store in the Metrocentre store in Gateshead, here in the North East England, until October 2016. They’ll also be on display at the North East’s largest LEGO show at NRM Shildon in County Durham later this year (November 12 – 13th 2016).
