LEGO model of the Lake District by Jon Tordoff

Nature is often hard to capture in LEGO bricks, which are typically pretty square. This makes Jon Tordoff’s huge LEGO model of the Lake District even more impressive to us, as the rolling landscapes, steep valleys and vegetation are all beautifully captured in LEGO bricks.

This huge landscape is made entirely from LEGO bricks and elements, and covers around 100sq ft (9.29 square metres) in area. Jon estimates the total number of LEGO bricks in the model as 160, 000 – and you can see why! Jon is building to a roughly 1:3125 scale, and even scaled down by that factor, the model is a really impressive size:

The Lake District in LEGO bricks will be on display at Belper Library in Derbyshire on Friday 6th and Saturday 7th January 2023 – do pop in and see it in person if you can! You can find the library at:
