A first LEGO fan show in a new venue is always exciting, and the Bricks In The Roundhouse 2026 was no exception!
Hosted in the very atmospheric Barrow Hill Roundhouse near Chesterfield in the East Midlands, organised by local family members Dan, Niki, Di and Paul. The weekend was home to many LEGO model displays, plus activities and trade stands.

There were over 40 model displays on show at the weekend, built by LEGO fans from across the country. Here are a few of our favourites from the weekend:
Simon’s working LEGO canal lock
This brilliant model, built by Simon (aka @bowensbricks, and one of our team building faciliators!) of a working LEGO canal lock, was superbly done. Featuring recognisable landscape paired with functionality to open and close both sets of lock gates, and the “water” to rise and fall as required. It’s a really clever bit of LEGO engineering, and hugely satisfying to watch it in action.
We hear he has a motorised LEGO narrowboat planned next…
LEGO Rail Operating Centre by EdTheShed
It was hard to miss this imposing model of a Rail Operating Centre (ROC) by @EdTheShed23 at Bricks In The Roundhouse. Part of a much larger collaborative railway display by LEGO UK Railway members, this building features a lovely plate-built sign of the Network Rail logo, plus solar panels on the roof.
Our favourite detail was the LEGO snail graffiti being painted in to the brickwork!
Pirate scene by Sally
This very aesthetically pleasing LEGO pirate scene featured scattered islands and coves interspersed with LEGO pirate ships. We love this island in particular, with its skull cave:
And we hate to think of the monster who lives in this isolated cave:
Winter resort by @olegs_bricks
We loved the busy nature of this LEGO winter resort scene by @olegs_bricks (aka Steve and Marie), with skiers ascending the mountain, plus fairground rides, all contained with a beautiful snowy landscape.
A big thanks to Dan, Niki, Paul and Di for organising – your 8 months of work was definitely worthwhile! We’ll be at Watercress Bricks next in Hampshire, followed by a trip north to Durham Brick Show in the middle of September.
