Discovery Brick Show is back for a weekend of LEGO fun in Newcastle upon Tyne!
I’m really pleased to say that Discovery Brick Show is back for 2020. Discovery Brick Show is Newcastle’s annual LEGO show, and is back for a weekend in May at the brilliant Discovery Museum in Newcastle city centre.
As part of Brick Alley LEGO User Group, we’re planning another two day celebration of LEGO bricks for all ages, from brand new LEGO displays never seen before, to new activities around the museum, as well as our good old LEGO play pits. As usual, the exhibition area and marketplace will be ticketed as there are restrictions on the Great Hall’s capacity, but there will be plenty of free LEGO activities spread around the museum too.
Last year we had around 40 exhibitors from throughout the UK, and are likely to have a similar number again this year (we’ve about used all available display space we have at the venue!), with totally new LEGO creations in space, Ninjago, city, trains, and a GBC – Great Ball Contraption. My friend Caz (aka BlockheadUK on YouTube) has a brilliant video of the collaborative GBC we had on display at Shildon Brick Show last month, and Discovery’s effort will be no less impressive and mesmerising!
Please do come along and support the show if you can – without visitors the show is nothing! Many Adult Fans of LEGO who help volunteer and exhibit at the show love sharing their passion and enthusiasm for the LEGO hobby, and it’s great seeing families with children – and adults! – of all ages getting stuck in to the activities.
