Two shows in one weekend is rare for us, but our journey to South West England on this glorious summer weekend had a second stop: Brick Adventures at Didcot Railway Centre in Oxfordshire. This show has been running in August for quite a few years now, and we finally made it down!
Our favourite models at Brick Adventures 2026 in Oxfordshire
Browsing through the LEGO model displays built by fans from around the country in Didcot’s carriage shed, there was a lovely mix of vintage LEGO sets, train themed models, and dioramas on display. Here are some of our favourites from the day.
Didcot coaling tower by Sarah Jermyn
We love models of real things built from LEGO bricks and this coaling tower model by Sarah Jermyn really caught our eye.
The real thing is an imposing building just as you enter Didcot Railway Centre, and we loved the LEGO interpretation built at “Sarah scale”!
Railway shed building by Jonathan Gale
Jonathan’s lovely LEGO railway station and shed was on show with a mix of custom-built trains.
What really caught our eye was this lovely railway station and goods shed buildings built from LEGO bricks with the stone and brick texture simply built but very effective.
Peter’s hungry pigeons
This little vignette on Peter’s railway layout caught our eye too – hungry LEGO pigeons swarming a commuter with a hotdog on his station platform. A lovely playful scene which visitors really enjoyed!
Brick Adventures was well worth a visit for local LEGO fans in Oxfordshire, especially with the robot battle arena in action this year! The site is really big, too – plenty of “real trains” to see, plus engine sheds, museums and even a signalling centre you can have a go in, making Didcot Railway Centre a great day out even without the LEGO.
